Pickup banks says some guy dropped off a few halves from a local pizza shop...they said some kid came in and bought a bunch of beer with Halves. So, I take them all...$9 in loose Halves: 1 x 1966 ken

2 boxes of Halves (and finally broke the Skunk)...

    Box 1: 1st Roll - 1960 Ben....Last Roll - 1967 Ken
    Box 2: 1 x 1966 Ken, 2 x 1967 Ken's

So, I'm feeling good and go to TD cash, head to another bank and grab a box of dimes, $100 in BWDimes, and a box of nickels...All skunks!

Still a good day compared to the past month.

Congrats to all for some pretty amazing finds today!

But I want to sell all my clad ikes, I've got too much money held up in them. I don't know how to get more than $1 for them though, any ideas?

    76 wheats from box #1
    5 from box #2

That's a heck of haul for me. Most wheats I have found in a box so far. They were both brinks too.[IMG]

Ebay them. You won't get much, but you'll get something. In my experience, if you sell them in lots of around 75, you'll make maybe 5 to 10 cents per coin. Make sure to set the minimum bid to a price you'll break even at, after fees and shipping. Don't want to lose money on them.

2 boxes of halves, two skunks.

the curse of the black dotted "E" is back. I hate these Diseased marked coins. I can't fathom how much time this guy must have on his hands to not only sort but mark SOOOOOO many coins.

I'm upping my volume to 4 boxes a week. I'd like to do more but my schedule makes it hard pick up more than twice a week. If this guy is inactive maybe I can power through. If he is out there sorting right now I will likely never be able to get ahead of him. It's a 45 minute drive to get to a bank that uses a different deliver service.

Any tips other than just pushing through as many boxes as I can? It's very disheartening, that probably why he does it to push away any competition.

Problem with ebaying them is if you start doing more volume and Paypal gets suspicious, they'll hold your money for three weeks. They did it to me when I sold some to pay some bills... couldn't pay the bills, couldn't make headway with anybody at ebay/paypal. I've sworn off selling on ebay since. I'm not going to let them hold what is legally my money. They're an intermediary between buyer and seller, and that provides them with zero legal right to hold my money.

On what grounds did they say they were holding your money? I don't see any reason they'd think selling Ikes was suspicious, even if you were doing a large volume constantly. That's pretty stupid they'd do that.

Some BS about lack of feedback.

2 boxes of halves, 2 skunks. Guess that box yesterday was a small oasis in the desert of clad.

My halves boxes always have tons of searchers marks. I'm sorry, I don't care if the coins are worthless, marking them is just rude. There's no point and all you're really doing is destroying someone's ability to put a book/album together. By me the worst is the guy who writes "LOMBARDO" in sharpie on the obverses, really would love to meet that guy/girl...

Anyway it seems like everyone is having a bit of a dry spell lately. Just keep at it!

  16. I was able to get another box of 500 in dimes. last night and only got a 58d rossie.

Where do you get dimes in $500 boxes? I thought most of them are $250... are brinks $500 or something?

I searched half of my box of halves and pulled 2 40%. In $40 of nickels, I pulled 2 war nickels. And in dollar coins I found this (http://www.cointalk.com/t202334/); hopefully this coin is actually an error. Also, whilst at my dump bank I met another roll searcher; he was very nice.

So, really thought this was going to end up being a dry week but I really lucked out today. Got a 90% out of 4 BWR of halves (2 of the skunks were wrapped with Bally's Casino paper, which I thought was weird), also got a silver quarter which was my first in well over 300 BWR and CWR rolls (excluding reject tube finds). I also got 2 roosies in rolls, one of which was an ender, and picked up $10 in red seal 2 dollar bills.

That brings my weekly results to:

    Boxes:
    Nickels (2): Skunk x2
    Dimes (2): Roosie x3; Roosie x1
    Halves (1): Skunk

    Rolls:
    Quarters (49): Wash x1
Dimes (96): Roosie x4 (includes 1 reject tube find), Merc x1
    Nickels (71): War x1
    Pennies (66): Wheat x26
    Halves ($73.50 in loose and BWR): 90% x1, 40% x2, WL x1

For halves, I decided not to count the $120 or so in CWR I found in the next town over which were part of someone's dump, which I just re-dumped immediately.

Foreign for this week: 83c Canadian, 40p UK, 5c Panama, 1d Hong Kong, 1c Bermuda, 7y Japan, 1c Trinidad, 10c Peru, and 2 euro cents.

Besides the skunky half/nickel boxes this week turned out alright. Better than alright, actually...

I don't know what service they use, but in my area only Bank of America has $500 dime boxes, everyone else has the standard $250.

Well got a little excited today.

Out of my first 3 rolls in a box a halves I pulled 5 40%ers and 1 Frankie. I had visions of a Monster Box...finally! Alas it wasn't meant to be, my luck quickly changed. Finally tally on the box was:

    8 40%ers
    1 Frankie

Still a great box for me. I'm closing in on 100 boxes of halves since last year, and the most silver coin I've popped out of a box was 13 on two different occasions. I will post a breakdown in a few more weeks of my finds after 100 boxes.

    HH all.
