Just inquiring to help identify the large/thick anomoly purtruding S/W off the "9" digit.

Under a loupe, it appears to be a copy of the digit '9' itself with the bottom portion chipped-off towards the "1". Any thoughts of this being a ddo?, misplaced MM, or other type of identification?

The piece attatched to the "9" is a die chip and is very common. There is machine doubling on the date and the mintmark has taken a hit. No premium for any of these.

I believe that there is a die chip on the MM also.

You might be right. My first take on it was that it was just a hit. Looking at it more closely, I'm going with your interpretation.

I chose other for "PMD" (post mint damage).
