95 ddo question

    why is the 1995-ddo-002 worth more than the 001 when the doubling on the 002 is more prominent?

    Maybe theres less of them, or the doubling is more prominent, therefor it looks better.

    i meant in general on coppercoins it says the 002 is worth more. but there is less of the doubling?

    DDO#1 is both very common and well known. Anyone can buy this variety at any time, which keeps prices down. DDO#2 is a lesser known variety and is not as widely available. The supply for #1 easily meets demand for the coin while demand for #2 is or may be higher than the supply. The strength of the doubling has no effect on the price of a coin, the market does.
