Picked up $30 BWR of quarters, have to do some laundry and wash the car. No silver which isn't a surprise but did find 5 ATB quarters. That seemed to be pretty high to me, are others having a hard time finding ATBs?

Box of nickels; skunk. Strange thing, though, I found yet another '40 in MS, with at least 5 FS.

Bag of nickels; 2 wars, a '64 Proof with a cameo obv, and a bunch of '80's BU's.

When you search nickels, do you look at the dates one by one? Is there a quick way to sort out the silver, like looking at the edges on dimes, quarters, and halves?

Initially, you'll be checking all the dates. After a while, you begin to learn strike and luster differences for certain periods and you don't have to check the dates on 2/3rds of the coins.

I do this too. You begin to immediately notice the differences between 30's - 60's coins vs. the 70-80's and the newer. They all have different looks to them. After you search a few boxes, you'll only be flipping over the older looking ones :)

    Box of halves = 8 40%ers.

Best box I've hit in awhile.

Just walked into te credit union to ask for halves. The teller told me they had 4 halves. I told her I would take them and as she got them I heard that lovely cling clang of that silver. One of the four was a 69. Woot.

Box of halves. 1 1968 - my skunk streak of 5 boxes is broken. I also found a 1977 S in the same box.

I did a box of halves earlier today. Some joker in the Chicago area has decided to paint the edges of some of the clads with silver paint. I found about 5 of these in the box I did today. The first one had me fooled at first!

Haven't been on for a good while, then again, I haven't been getting many coins lately either. I did get $20 in cents the other day and have only found 2 wheats in the first half or so. I did however get a dateless buffalo nickel from a teller that she had been holding for me. Are people still keeping the copper out from the other cents?

I've seen a few of those lately, always tricky. Guess it keeps us on our toes if nothing else, ha besides the part apart about getting our hopes up that it's a Frankie or a Walker in that roll! :)

Been there, both gold and silver edges (about crapped my pants at seeing a full roll of silver, then realized they were plated with something).

    $172 halves: skunk
    $335 dimes: skunk

Found a gold-plated dime, just like the halves in Lon Chaney's picture, though. And the CWR dimes were consistently long again, so I'm still ahead by 60 cents on the day! (Even though the BWR dimes were occasionally short.)

Also put in my first order for a box of halves, it should be here Friday!
