Do you have any idea as to the value of the token? I bought all of these,a seated quarter that I have posted in a seperate thread,and a few clipped wheaties all for one price. I really only wanted the half soverign,but couldn't pass up the deal. I got them all for about half the bullion value of the soverign. Sellers price,not mine.:smile
If you can post a clear picture of both sides of your token I'll try to attribute it for you Dennis. I'm not up on current values because I haven't collected them for awhile, but I can probably ballpark it. Bruce
Sherlock Holmes handed out a couple of half sovereigns to "grease the wheels" in the various stories. I believe he wagered one with a recalcitrant shopkeeper in "The Blue Carbuncle" in order to get information he needed.
