Hey, a lot of people hate the Barber Liberty. We all have opinions. Doesn't mean mine or yours is right.
It's a tie: Ike dollar, Jefferson nickel and Roosevelt dime. Hideous. Get the presidents off our coins, and bring back the Liberty designs.
You're being too kind... I have always called that coin the Susan B. Ugly Dollar. Good God, is that an ugly coin !!
[silently makes note to self to unsubscribe from this thread in the morning] Snooky........one word, nuf said. She ain't on no coin though.....
The only reason I bother is because of the silver in them, but to me the kennedy halves are unattractive.... Sent from my SGH-T959 using Tapatalk
I think that the V-nickel is one of the worst designs that any mint has ever created. I've seen stuff pounded by a hammer by the Romans that had more imagination.
Aye, the Susan B. is a nasty coin. I am not fond of the Ike either. Nor the old cents and half dollars, etc etc. It looked like they made Liberty out to be a donut eatin' couch potato. Also, I am of two minds about the silver Barber coinage. On one hand, they have nice appeal in a proof form. Also, it was almost the beginning of die-makers really being able to but great detail in the standard circulating coin. However, they all looked the same. The Quarter and Half were identical, the Dime had minor differences and the reverse of the dime was hardly different than that of the Seated dime. Also, Barber made Liberty look like a man, imo. Like Ceasar... On the Standing, Walking, and Winged Liberties, she looks like a woman. Same for the Morgan and Peace dollars...and the V-nickel...pretty much every coin she has appeared on in U.S. history besides the Barber design.
