Thread Resurrection but... Coincast, I took Grading Part 1 last year with Rick Sear, Rod Gillis and Brian Fenton. They were a lot of fun. I'm sure the other instructors were just as good but I would definately recommend this trio if you get a choice! They're hilarious together and know their stuff.
What kind of courses are offered? I am interested in Franklins, Anything Seated, and Old U.S. Copper. Could also use a course in learning how to grade certain series and possibly a photography class. Just signed up for the ANA. Does anyone have a web adress? Thanks.
http://www.money.org/AM/Template.cf...mplate=/CM/ContentDisplay.cfm&ContentID=16441 I am going Week 2, was supposed to go both but had another trip planned for the first week... But I am considering either the Advanced photography class with Todd Pollock, Grading Coins 2, Counterfeit and Altered, the Barber Series Class or the exhibit class. So hard to choose!
Slowpoke here. Yes I have signed up for a scholarship, but won't go if I don't get it. (Money's a bit tight ) But I sure hope to go. If possible, I would like to attend all in week 1 and some more in the mini seminars.
Do you mean attending all the classes offered week one this week? That's impossible. It would be awesome though!
Just what I can. Some select ones in particular but some I would rather not go to. Session 1 has some of the courses I want, but session 2 has others I want. Sure wish I could go to both.
Unfortunately, you would have to choose just one of the courses to go to as they all run at the same time. Most of the miniseminars also overlap. But don't worry. Just taking one class gives you enough information (and practice if you take a grading course) to make it an amazing experience! The time spent outside of class, including the roundtable session, is also just as amazing of an experience.
I'm slated to go in 2013. I was recently given a tremendous opportunity, so, whomever isn't able to make it this year, see ya the following year! -Brian
Or you could take your wife with you. Just think of what kind of a Numismatic Legend you and your newborn would become if he/she was born at the summer seminar.
I will be there week 2 teaching advanced photography. Looking forward to it as last year was a great time.
I wish I could have swung the cost to spend the time learning more about my favorite series with two of the most influential people in my collecting area. Glenn Holsonabake and Mike Hayes are great people, and I am envious of the people that get to make this trip.
Not too sure. For any scholarship, I am thinking they'll give you a letter telling if you have or haven't gotten it.
I'm going both weeks again this year - a real benefit of retirement. Week 1 - Early American Copper taught by Stephen Carr and Doug Bird - two excellant teachers. Week 2 - Flying Eagle and Eagle Cent from Rick Snow - Bruce, 1st time in the same class. All you YN's going and anybody else - of course - PM Hobo or myself and we'll try to arrange meetings.
