1 box: 15 wheats, oldest 1928. 3 cents from Canada 9 rolls of copper cents. 1 of the enders was an uncirculated 1959 cent, but the rolling machine left scratches on the surface of the coin . There was also a BU 1964 cent that had 1 side red and the other side white-ish, with lots of contrast.
The Denver minted small date 60's are easy to find. The small date 60-P's will get you a few bucks. I found one last month here on the west coast that's a nice red. I'll post it up on here later.
Here are the major cent finds from the last 30 days. $350 in cents searched through. Enjoy the fun stuff!
And a couple mint errors. The clipped cent has some nasty verdigris on the reverse. Nice find nonetheless. Enjoy.
10 rolls: 1986 D 1987 D 1989 D 1990 D 1996 D 2000 D 2002 P 2006 D 2007 D 2009 D #3 and a Czechoslovakia coin???
Bought 14 coin rolls, and found a bunch of 1970-2000, a 2001 Canadian Cent, and was lucky enough to find these!
I found a 1916 wheat today, but the whole roll looked like it came out of the dumpster. Could barely make out the 6. They were so crusty I didn't even roll them back up .
1927-D 1934 1940 1944-S 1944-D 1945 1946-S 1948 1949 1951-S 1951 1952-D 1953-D 1953-S 1956-D (x2) 1959 1959-D (x2)
Today I did another box of Canadian pennies and found 1000 and something copper and some centennial and a Proof plus a lot of King Georges and Bank of Guyana 5 dollars and 1956 D, 1945, 1940, 1955 and a one penny Australia.
After 170 rolls I found 12 wheats, kept a few MS/BU mixed dates, also kept a few rainbow toned 80's and 90's, about 28 canadians, a bicentenial canadian Dove cent, and a 1998 WAM. I posted the WAM in the error section earlier.
I found this clipped planchet cent in a box. Not a bad find in a US cent box, I thought. I think I have a thread about it here somewhere. It's an older find, but everyone seemed to agree that it was a clip.
Opened a total of 12 rolls yesterday and scored a 34, 47, 54, and 57. I am new to roll hunting and was wondering if there was a list somewhere that I could look at of cents that I should be keeping. Obviously the wheaties, but what about any after that? I am aware of the WAM's and the DDO's, the more "glamorous" cents, but what about the lesser known ones? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
I picked up $25 is CWR and one of them was an entire roll of 1919 wheats of various mint marks. None of them are super sharp cents, but my guess is someone was sorting and put the wrong roll back in the box to be taken to the bank. Their loss is my gain
Honestly I've had more luck from this one McDonald's then all my experience from rolls. Get lots of wheats from that place and notably a 1904 IHC, 1919, and about 4 1920's. I also keep any 1959's that come across my way, I like first year memorials.
