That's really a tough question to answer. It all depends on your budget, what you're looking for, and which coins you enjoy hunting through yourself. I enjoy going through pennies, nickels, dimes, and halves. I do quarters every now and then but never find any silver. I switch up what I order every week to mix things up a bit so it doesn't get too repetitive. I suggest you try doing different types of coins to see which you like the most :)

First box of nickels: a war ('45-S), a pocket piece (can't tell the year), a Bahamas five cent coin, and . . . a Japanese 1 yen coin! The Bahamas coin I can understand, but the yen is noticeably smaller and much lighter, I think it's aluminum.

1 Box of quarters: 1x1964D. Haven't searched in a couple weeks but that one felt good when I pulled it out.

Box worth of dimes (49 BWR, 1 CWR). The CWR had one Roosie, all the BWR also had one.

Add to that a teller Roosie, a reject '42 Quarter and the 40% halves from before, and you get a good day :smile

    $60 in nickels - skunk

Tommorow is my drive around and look for CWR day. hopefully I find something to end the month off right. I havent had any blockbuster finds but when you add it all up it was a pretty good month in my opinion.

Did we decide that we are going to start Month end totals thread or not??

$80 of halves searched from another local recrimper - zilch

Picked up $20 in nickels to search after getting $16 nickels yesterday at M&T. Teller seems to be getting ancy giving away so many nickels even though I have an account there. I got the "is it for a business" question. Funny thing is that the halves came from Bank of America where I don't have an account and no one had a problem giving them to me. I guess some tellers just are grumps.

Visited a bank last week on Wednesday to order halves, "sure they will be in on Tuesday afternoon". So of course I go today to pick them up and they are not there. They just ordered them today and might be in tomorrow? Normally it would not be a huge deal to push it back a day, but I have a box at another bank to get tomorrow and tomorrow is a dump day. Now I'll be scrambling around trying to pick up the boxes and dump all in 30 minutes. Just when you think you have it all figured out....nope.

While I was there and after they gave me the bad news, I bought $250 in CWR dimes - SKUNK
    Little salt in the wound...nice.

    Silver is on fire today.

Might I suggest a spreadsheet for you, Alex? I'll copy mine and wipe all of my results off it if you want it. Actually, if you wait until later tonight, I'll upload it for anybody to use.

I always like to see how others set up their spreadsheet for finds. Mine is pretty simple that I made in Excel. I'm keeping track by month so I can see if I'm hitting my goal of 8.33 oz per month.

On a different topic....I downloaded an application on my iphone that tracks the price of silver. You just add in how many of each coin you have and it'll tell you what your stash is valued at. The bad is, after a certain amount of time it goes back to all zero and you have to punch it all in again. It's called AgCalc. If anyone knows of a better one let me know, this one is free.

Luckily I haven't ran across that. Since I only get a box a week. That would suck. How do you recrimp open rolls anyway? QUOTE=AceFranklin;1384486]2 boxes of halves. 2 More Skunks!

To the person who loves to recrimp all of the Strings and Sons halves. Your Welcome! :hail:

I've personally returned 5 of your boxes to the wild to get rerolled and hopefully mix in some silver. However, I appreciate your lazy ways! It makes it much more fun going through boxes knowing after the 3rd roll, there is a 0% chance of finding anything! You're a great person! Hope life is good to you! Jerk.[/QUOTE]

i've been buying 90% silver coins from shops for a while now and figured i'd try and buy rolls. Yesterday was the first day i bought more then 2-3! and it was a good decision! i purchased $410 worth of halves from a bank a friend works at and found 9 - 1964's, and 19 1965-1970's!!! i was shocked so i decided to look on the web and see if thats how many you get on average, and it looks like this was a rare find? i was very excited and plan on getting a full box tomorrow!
