I'm glad you guys have luck with PNC, I'm in south central PA and they wont even bother to order me any halves. I can get all the nickels and cents there as i want, but if i ask for halves they say nope cant get them.

HaHa! I'm sure they figured it out with the amount I drop off. I told them I look for key dates, and the head teller Danielle says does key dates mean Silver. I'm like...'you are on to me huh?'

They are cool though...they don't seem to care, and she tells me she doesn't have the time nore desire to cherry pick out the stuff. So, take care of em and they'll take care of you!

Just brought in my Frankie finds for the teller who orders me halves, for show and tell. She was really excited. She also sold me a 1950 $10 note.

Halfway through a box of halves (on the ride in), 2 40%.

How early are your banks open? Mine don't open around here until 9 which makes it impossible to stop in before work, or after work for that matter on most days. Bankers hours....geez

You're also trying to get me to post more? ;)

Banks open 8:00 in the city, and TD opens at 7:30.

Unrealiable banks that can't get their info straight are really making me mad. I think the PNC outside of WC just became a dump bank today unless I can get them to order me 6 boxes or something ridiculous.

I walked into a bank today to ask for halves. I never go there but I have an account. They had $12.50 in an envelope, so I thought they would be something good. $12.50 in clad was all it was. Like I mentioned I have an account but never go there, I asked them to order me halves thinking they would give me a line or something but no, they said they would be in a couple days. Didn't even ask if I had an account. Weird, but cool.

Rest of the box had nothing, makes 2x 40% for the box.

Don't have pics right now, but opened a box of cents over the weekend and pulled two dandy's(imho)-

    24 P Wheat!
    27 P Wheat!

Those were the first rolls that I have ever searched! Hopefully I am not too spoiled now!!

Average box for me holds somewhere around 10 wheats... one every 5 rolls, and almost always all later dates.

Yeah, but aren't those rather "key" dates? I pulled a few more wheats, but I thought these two really stood out.

If they aren't that good then I take it all back! Have patience with me, I am new to this collecting craze!

They are 20's wheats so theyre a little more valuable but not by much. neither are key dates, and they dont have mint marks. generally wheat pennies with either D or S mint marks are more valuable. Still nice wheaties though =D

Found a 1943 P war nickel in the cash register today, swapped it for one in my tip jar! First find in a long time, time to start searching more again...

2 boxes of halves. 2 More Skunks!

To the person who loves to recrimp all of the Strings and Sons halves. Your Welcome! :hail:

I've personally returned 5 of your boxes to the wild to get rerolled and hopefully mix in some silver. However, I appreciate your lazy ways! It makes it much more fun going through boxes knowing after the 3rd roll, there is a 0% chance of finding anything! You're a great person! Hope life is good to you! Jerk.

That's why I tell people to not be "that guy".

I got off Sunday, by the way. I'll be able to go, but I've gotta leave by 1 at the latest to get on for work at 1:30.

Box of halves - 1962 Frankie, 1967 Ken
Always a Lady and I did our second BWR of halves today. She found the 62 and 67 in the same roll. Yes it did stand out, the Frankie I mean. The 67 was a little dirty on the edge and was found by checking the dates. We also found a Bicentennial 1976s as well as several 2002 and newer. We got SKUNKED on our first box but I feel this one was pretty good. Now the question of what to do with the 2002 to present?

Always a lady did the Whoo hoo when the Frankie popped and then asked if the 67 was any good. I said it sure is.

I want to thank Merc, HOTN, Melina, Intrepid, and Inquisative for your inspiration as well as all that post advice. We are learning and having a blast. Now we have to deposit and look for the next roll. coin roll hunt (halfs) 008.jpg coin roll hunt (halfs) 011.jpg
