The location of the Hispanic Museum is uptown in a formerly nice area.
Back when I was a kid in the 50s & 60s, the museum complex there housed the Hispanic Museum, the ANS and the American Indian Museum and was frequently a target of grammar school class trips from the surrounding suburbs.
Nowadays you're taking your life in your hands to visit that part of town.
The ANS and the Indian Museum have long since departed to better areas of the city and the entire complex is slowing crumbling to dust. Which is really a crying shame as it used to be a lovely spot.

I guess it's not that bad if you enjoy the company of crackheads, junkies and other assorted lowlifes.

It's an interesting strategy. We must sell what we have so we can buy more stuff.

Never even knew the collection existed, which is probably true of most here. Any details on how we can view it? Are the coins certified?

From the sound of things I doubt anything has happened yet. But you can bet when an auction house is chosen and the catalog is published - you'll hear about it !

I wonder what they will use the proceeds to acquire? And I'm surprised that the ANA wasn't doing something to display the collection.

The ANA has nothing to do with the collection, which may account for their inaction.

I seriously doubt the Hispanic Museum has done anything to display the collection since they took it back from the ANS several years ago.
