    Matthew,

You shouldn't be so impatient. Sometimes it might take a while for some of us to respond.

Since the hit on the jaw is in a prime focal area, it may only grade MS64/65. I can't give you an accurate value over melt because I haven't followed them for years. I have about 2 dozen of them, for which, I paid $2 each about 8 years ago.

Uncertified, they're selling for as much as $17.50 on eBay, and that's BIN price.

Looks 64 with the mark on Ike's jaw line.

looks like scratch from another coin must have happened at the mint because i cut this out of the mint packaging yesterday.

its is barely visible coin in hand, I bought the uncirculated coin online and could not see it in the pic the seller sent me. No big deal it is still worth what i paid and seller said nothing of grade. Just had to take the gamble on it.

Was it there before you cut it out?

Interesting. I noticed it right off before I even enlarged the image.

That may even hold the grade to 63. As Chris pointed out, the jaw is a prime focal area for the Ikes.

Also you already posted this question once already, asking about the grade of it.

    1. Don't be so impatient.
    2. Don't double post, you could have kept the topic ongoing in your existing thread already asking about the coin.

Yes it was there before i cut it out and when i did cut it out i made sure to not even touch the coin. Picked it up with cotton gloves by the rim and placed it into the holder. The seller sent me a different photo then the coin i received and if i wouldn't have cut it out of the mint packaging i would send it back.

BN, That's for the brown box proofs. These (the blue packs) routinely sell for melt ungraded on e-bay.

Matthew, that is truly a great looking Ike and IMO would grade 67 with a chance at 68 without the hits on the chin and neck. In it's present state with neck, chin hits, a few spots and bad spot on REV at 8:00, you've got a 64 coin with a slight chance at 65.
--You'll notice the MS65 in the link you provided is absent of any strong hits.....

Of course some of the spots I see in the picture may not be on the coin, but there may also be spots, rubs, hits, etc that I can't see in your picture. The only true way to satisfy your need for a reliable grade is to take it or send it for grading.

Value: Someone might pay $15-$20 ungraded.

Doesn't matter if a mint worker did the ding or not, it still knocks off a few possible points in the overall grade.

I pulled an Ike from a 73 uncirculated set with the rim damaged, it was still in the packaging so it happened at the mint. I ended up with a damaged 73 uncirculated Ike. It happens, you can't ignore damage and this type of damage doesn't increase the value because a mint worker or machine damaged it after it was struck.

I'm going to agree with the others and say this coin is MS63-64 because of that jaw hit and a couple other little dings I see. It doesn't really matter if it was there in the mint package. At some point this coin was bumped causing that damage. This could have happened at the mint before it was packaged or it could have happened between when it was sold and you bought it because those soft plastic mint packages don't protect the coin at all.

In his other thread he mentions a smudge on the reverse, asked about wiping it off with a microfiber cloth.

This coin is not worthy of sending to TGP, you'd end up spending more on getting it graded than it's actually worth. Just enjoy the coin or if you want to sell it, sell it raw.
