Next week the US Mint is scheduled to sell the 2011 US Army Commemorative Coins. Has anyone heard how much the Mint is going to sell these coins for? Thanks in advance.....

I will probably get 2 each of the silver proofs and uncirculated. 1 set for me and one for a brother that is a Colonel in the Army.

I think they will do well..How well tough to say.

Probably like the Marine Corps dollar, snapped up, fairly quick sell out, everyone expecting them to be hot and in high demand, they go up briefly and then crash back down to issue price and stay there.

On the other hand they might not do that well.

I also expect them to sell well if not sell out. I think the gold and clad coins have better designs than the silver dollar one but I can't afford the gold so will be getting the silver and clad coins only.

    Yes!

We're buying 1 gold and 3 each of the other 2 for all the Army folks in my family. With father's day and birthdays coming up soon they will be very pleasantly surprised.

So what was the issue price of this coin from the Mint. My local shop has one at $25 bucks is it a buy?

If it's a 2011 Army commem, without even knowing what denomination you're talking about, buy it.
The half dollar in unc. goes for about three times that. The proof about $30 to $40.
The silver dollars melt at $27 something right now.
I'm sure it isn't the gold.

I bought all seven of the $0.50 UNC today for $20 each. He had some of the proofs also but for $25
