Well I found about 30 halfs, 2002 and newer in a box today that some dumb_ _ _ put marks all over them! There were red, green, blue, black and yellow marks all over them. Othe rthan the marks there was not a thing wrong with them. Makes ya mad as heck to see that. Had 1 40% in $700 not good but at least it didn't have marks all over it.

I posed this question a while back and never got an answer. I too am curious whether we should keep these or not. Any help out there?

From what I read on here 2002 to present are NIFC= not intended for circulation. The mintages are very low (2.5m) I started keeping them for that reason alone. Hope that helps.

Yeah... here's the problem, though. They're hoarded en masse in original mint rolls. So the ones you're getting in rolls that have been dinged up a bit and would probably grade 63-64? They aren't worth crap over face due to the proliferation of higher-quality examples held elsewhere. I've kept the nicest example of each date/mm I've come across and I toss the rest back.

I keep a few if they're in uncirculated condition. There are less of them around but I don't think it means they're worth much more if any. But I like getting them.

Man, I'm getting tons of foreign lately

...not a lot of silver though, lol

Anyway, just from the past week I've gotten 75c Panama, 5c Ecuador, 8c Canada, 5c South Africa, 10c Peru all from rolls... and then 7 pesos from the Dominican Republic and 20 Euro cents from Spain in the coin return at TD.

$165 bag of nicks, just one war.

$100 box of nicks, 1 war 1 '23 buff, and one BU '41 5FS nickel. MS64ish by my estimate.

    $250 in quarters - skunk
    $250 in dimes - 48D and 60.
Just started some Whitman's recently so both of those fit in my folders which is always nice. I am still new to this so I get excited whenever I see that silver, especially since my last 5 boxes of dimes were skunks until this one.

flat box of halves - worse than skunk (ten rolls only had nineteen in them and one quarter mixed in)

I think the honeymoon period is definately over. Tomorrow is another day and another box. Good luck all.

    2 boxes of nickels
    1 war nickel
    1 dateless buffalo

    1950-D key date nickel!
finally... only had to do $1,914 of nickels to get one :D
Now all I need for my book is a 1939-D, and 3 of the war nickels that I can't remember the dates of.

I've almost got the whole 1938-2011 nickel set =D!!!

it only takes one coin though :) you'll get it when you least expect it lol. or at least that's what always happens to me. but hey, if you really want mine I will trade it for a roll of mercury dimes! haha when I found it I was freaking out again, and my dad thought I hurt myself xD

It felt like I had had a lot of skunks lately, so I looked at my spreadsheet.

In my last 31 boxes, 21 skunks!!!! :( :( plus 2 boxes with 2 and 3 boxes with 1. Only 5 of the 31 had more than 2, and all of them were double figures. Feast or famine.

    So, I got a box today....12 40%ers. :)

Well that's a way to get off the schnide Bob. Out of the 80+ boxes of halves I've done in the last year, I think I've only hit 3 boxes with 10 or more Silver.
