Hm, few a you guys in that area. I lived in jackson until 2005, I'm in Wayne County now though. I've often thought about running over to jackson to search, sometime on a day off.
    Get any luck around there?

That's insane lol. I've gone through $1,714 total of nickels and found 24 war, 18 buffalo, 1 liberty head, 4 proofs, 3 key dates, and a couple hundred pre 1960's. do you keep pre 1960's or older nickels? how many nickels have you gone through total to find all your war nickels?! I'm jealous :/

pballer those are some good finds you got there, I'm jealous of you. I know I've done atleast 10 boxes of Nickels and I've found 17 War Nickels, 1 Dateless Buff, 0 Liberty, and still have 10 holes to fill on my '38-61 Jefferson Whitman. I'm not sure exactly how many boxes I've done but it's probably not too far behind the total of 17 boxes that you've done. Nice finds. Yeah Merc's finds are always ridiculous, and I"m jealous too...haha

Well, I'm through with the dimes, and I got one 1964-D Dime. It's been very much skunk for a long time on silver. But I'll go back next week and get more to search. That's a given.

I only deal with the Bank of American on W. Michigan (by the Westwood Mall). They get halves for me. I will occasionally pick up loose rolls at other banks if I am nearby, but not as a rule of thumb. Last box of halves had 9 40%ers, but the previous 3 were all skunks...

    Stop over some time...

As for pre-'60, yes I keep them. I've got somewhere around $300+ in face now.

WOW, you guys are coming out of the woodwork!! I had no idea I was talking to anyone in my state! I will stay away from B of A for sure. thanks for the heads up! glad to hear I won't be treading on you if I head over there.

Kalamazoo County is proving to make me work for my silver. I order 2 boxes a week and averge like 2 coins every 6 boxes or so!

I've luckily had better luck with CWR's. Sure would be nice not to have to drive all over God's green earth to find some decent rolls to go through though.

    You're tellin' me.

Another road trip tomorrow, one of my usual routes. Has always been productive. If you're looking on google maps, I'll be traveling down a road that goes from Wilmington, DE to Elkton, MD.

Good to know. If I ever make a day trip over there to search, I'll keep away from that BofA for ya. I wish there were TCF's in Jackson, though, so I could dump partway through. I guess Flagstar downtown has a coin counter, I have an account there.

You would think my bank would stay open on a holiday like President's Day seeing as they are only open Monday thru Friday anyway...now I can't get my box so my holiday is a bust.

What's the best way to sell them? solid rolls of certain dates, or solid rolls of certain mints, sell them mixed? I don't know what to do with mine. I've got full rolls of 1941-P, 1946-P, 1958-D, 1959-D. Can I sell these for more than face value?

Beats me, I've never bothered cause I don't need the money.

Ha :) same here, but my collection of coins is starting to grow pretty big and I think I might want to get rid of the stuff that I'm not really attached to. I guess I'll just hang on to them for now, maybe take them to a coin dealer.

Haha, I don't NEED money but I'd still like to keep what I have. I've got about a $1300 budget for coin roll hunting... I wish I could switch to half dollars but two boxes a week just isn't enough for me. I'm only 18 so I don't have expenses other than my car's gas and whatnot, but my job is only raising my budget about $20-50 per week. ugh. I want more halves :p

Great box of pennies I got. I am from Canada and I found a 1939 Wheatie but it was looked like someone took a razor blade and scratched it all up so sorta ruined then I found a 1944 Wheatie in excellent condition so I kept it and a lot of pre 1996 pennies and for my Nickel box it wasn't the best.

Do you not have a good dump bank? Get one branch to order halves in the begining of the week, dump them mid week then get another branch to order you halves for Thursday or Friday then dump em again on the weekend. You can make your $1000 budget work twice as hard for you and you'll double your chances at some silver.

Hey all, long time reader, first time poster

Guess I'll just post my results from all last week:

    Boxes (1 each)
    Dime - Merc x 1, Roosie x 1
    Nickles - War x 1
    Penny - Wheat x 15, 1973 Proof
Halves - Skunk (2nd skunk box in a row)

    Rolls:
Quarters (44 rolls) - Skunk (why do I bother with quarters) except for a 1968 Proof
    Dimes (72 rolls) - Roosie x 5, Merc x 2
    Nickels (62 rolls) - Buffalo x 2, 2 or 3 random proof nickels
    Pennies (59 rolls) - Wheat x 9, 3 random proof pennies
    Halves ($20.50 loose and CWR) - 1 x Ken 90%, 5 x 40%

Lots of random stuff and foreign this week too: A plastic penny AND a plastic nickel, 5p Australia, 62c Canadian, 5p UK, 11c Panama, and 1c Bahamas.. pretty sure I had 2 or 3 foreign enders this week lol

Also managed to find 7 loose Ikes (all clad) and a whole roll of Ikes. I practically had a heart attack when they pulled out the roll of large size dollars, thought I scored the same way Merc did but alas, all clad as well.

First good week I've had after a months-long dry spell!
