Like the title says I really hope that I did not pay to much. Any ideas on what kind of grade or value this coin has? I bought it along with quite a few others from some one a few days ago. This was the only coin I did know a lot about before I bought it, which makes me very worried. I know I should just stick to what I know, but I can't help myself =p

I would grade that as a VF and as for the price ~160-190 (???)

I would rather wait until I find out what others think it is worth. I will say either way, but I would rather wait especially if it is super embarrassing.

I would say that is a high estimate

Yes now that I think about it I saw an XF slabbed on sale at a local coin shop asking $200. What about the grade?

It's a nice coin but you can buy those at a big coin show for $100 or a little more.

Maybe somewhere between 75 and 110

Make sure to figure that re-engraved clasp into the grade. I don't think anything else on it has been touched up. I'm not good on grading those though.

I would say gVF, scratches, on one of the most common dates. I hope you didn't pay over $100.

They are cool coins. I remember my first one. :)

Even though there's a general concensius (I don't know how to spell that word), I will still put my input in for what it's worth. Around $75-$110.

I will defer to better collectors of these, but I thought they lowered the relief on the clasp for the later issues. I have seen many VF's where the clasp stands out like that. Enough at least that it didn't raise an eyebrow when I first saw it.

OP, regardless of what you paid its a cool coin. I hope if you happened to overpay it doesn't put you off on the series. I think they have a good design, (like the flowing hair better personally), lots of cool factor, (lettered edge is always cool), and are just an overall great series of coins to own. :)

Well I guess I overpaid! Oh well! That's what I get for buying what I'm not familiar with. I paid $150. I was thinking it was worth right around 160-180. Well i was wrong!

It just stinks, guess I'll stick to roll searching.

I say it's beautiful, I bought one recently with rainbow toning but "PLURIBUS" worn.as long as you really like it you couldn't have over-paid, but I know nothing of current prices.

It is a very nice coin and I will keep it quite a long time I imagine. I like that all the writing on the outside rim is perfectly intact. I haven't seen that on a coin before.
