I dont know a thing about error coins, so i am so sorry if by reading and replying here i wasted your time I have been doing some "errorhunting" in my collection. I would like your opinion in some things. These are some things i found: Not realy an error, but i cant remember what something like this is called Double die? Al of my Lincoln Memorials have the FG initials on them, but this one not. Cant realy see traces of them being removed. Is this something? Die crack? What do you guys think?
I'm not sure what we're supposed to see in the first photo. That's machine doubling (also called strike doubling or mechanical doubling) in the second photo....no premium. What is the date/mm of the third photo missing the designer's initials? Die cracks are fairly common.......no premium on this one. Chris
on the first photo there is like a thin layer of metal that came loose a bit (dont know how to call it) Enlargment looks clear enough to me (the thuing i am talking about starts at the U and goes down from there) Missing initials is a 1969
The first one is a lamination error the 1969 no "FG" carries an estimated value of $15 for an AU specimen(according to Cherrypicker's).
