1992 DDO but is now considered a die gouge.

OK, so I went through a whole box of pennies plus 8 rolls from a new box before I found out there was what was ONCE thought to be a 1992 DDO. Even though it's controversial and isn't widely considered a doubled die, I went back through all the pennies and pulled out the 1992's. On the very last 5 that I searched, I found one.

I've edited the title and my post to avoid confusion.

Edit again. OK, I thought I could change the main thread title, but I guess I can't.

Why would I do that? It's not a doubled die.

??? In the first post you were talking about a 1992 doubled die and then you said you found one and in post #3 you said it wasn't one. So which is it?

Btw, can't see anything in the pics.

In my first post I said it's not widely considered a doubled die. Yes, I found one......too easily, so I figure they aren't hard to find. Everyone knows it's not a doubled die so why would someone suggest I send it for grading? It's still called a DDO on thelincolncentresource, that's why I posted it the way I did. If you'd like to buy it I think I can let it go for only $200,000,000. I can probably get twice that on ebay. :);)

Oh. Sorry. I didn't know either until I saw it listed under the controversial coins on the lincoln resource website. I figured someone with 5,749 posts would have probably read about it on here somewhere.

At first I thought it was a doubled die, then I went on to read further after I found this. Most experts think it's a die gouge.

Taken from http://www.lincolncentresource.com/Controversial/Cents.html : This variety was thought to be a doubled die eyelid. Most experts believe it to be nothing more than a die gouge. This variety can be seen on Coppercoins.com, but it is listed for educational purposes only. It is still currently listed in the CONECA master listings.
