Road tripping tomorrow/today, whatever way you wanna look at it. Rough plan is to wake up around 8, get out the door around 8:15, (Note: Every time I plan a road trip, I say I'm gonna wake up early and never do, ha) and follow this route; Provided my phone cooperates (I did find my second battery, so that bodes well, but it's also my GPS, so...) I'll post live updates in this thread every few banks or so. From some phone work today, I'll estimate this route should produce somewhere around $3.5k in mixed rolls of halves to go through, with three locations for dumping (All TD Bank, of course). Drive time is just shy of 4 hours, mileage is about 110 miles. That doesn't include the return drive home, which should be about another hour and a half and 80 miles. Not sure if I'll be able to complete the route by 5 or 6pm, if not, then I'll get as much of it done as possible You know you have a crazy hobby when you work harder on your days off than you do on your days on. Interesting side note; my car will crest the 100k barrier on this trip, or should, at least.
Your traveling 4 hours to go buy rolls... Really I mean I traveled 4 hours to go to Long Beach. I am traveling 7 hours to go to Las Vegas tomorrow but 4 hours to go buy rolls, I guess that dedication right there. I guess thats why theres a whole sub forum now.
I did the same thing a few weeks ago. I didn't go as far as I wanted because it actually took longer than expected to hit each bank on the way. But I got 8 or 10 coins out of the deal if I remember correctly. It was a beautiful day (like today), I got to sing in my car alone for a few hours, and just enjoy the drive. Nothing wrong with that. Have fun!
What is amazing to me is the amount of BWR halves you find without getting them ordered. In my parts there has NEVER been a time where they had BWR halves on hand to sell me that I did not specifically ask them to order. CWR sure, but never BWR. HOTN
Grabbed some lunch from a grocery store... Bank next door had a roll of 40% halves and a roll of large dollars that had two MS Morgan dollars in it... 1891 and 1897. . That makes this profitable now lol.
Congrats!!! I can not believe the finds you come up with!!! :hail: I do cartwheels when I find "A" coin!! Second person this month to find Morgans at a bank??? Unreal!!
