That wouldn't even get into a PCGS genuine holder any longer, as it's a peeling lamination error. Cool? Yeah, but not NEAR $127,500. Maybe, MAYBE, put a period where the comma is.
I dont know that I would say that ICQ is a basement grader.. The coin is graded correctly and I believe that PCGS and NGC would both grade the coin the same way. The lamination will not affect the wear or grade of a coin.. The price is high. I will agree with that.. but, as PT Barnum says.......
You are correct. I wasn't getting at the point that it adds value....it actually reduces value. I had a BTW commem, and PCGS graded it years ago (it was in a blue cert holder, with no barcode on the front). It actually started growing some sort of grainy, white surface under, andaround the lamination. I owned it for 3-4 years, and it was clean when I got it, so I virtualy watched this 'growth' appear and spread. I suspect thats why they wont even slab them. Not sure if it would happen with copper, but that lamination takes away from the value, IMO, unless you are an lamination error collector.
