Lucy, all of the above are good websites to check. In all fairness your local dealers always give below melt because they do need a profit, BUT they do NOT need 150%.

You've already had one offer on this thread and I'm sure would get many others if you post in the For Sale section of this site. You would most likely get more than any dealer since you're essentially selling at retail.

 

He offered you $31 for the Morgan and Peace dollars?

The melt on them right now $26.17 each, so he must not know what he's doing, and if I were you, I would jump on that as no one else would offer you that much with the spot price at $33.41 right now.

why would you take almost half of what they are worth? at melt they are worth 51.48, you should get some more posts and put them in the for sale section at probably 90% spot? that sounds fair to me.

They mean 90% of the current melt value of the coin, for example if the coin has $10.00 of silver, you sell it for $9.00, or 90%.

 

oh whoops i should have explained that too. I forgot you were new at this and didn't know, my bad. spot price is what it is worth melted, and so 90% spot means 90% of what it's worth melted. I think someone has already posted this link but anyways its a great link for finding out what your coins are worth at melt. it even keeps up with the current price of silver so you don't have too. http://www.coinflation.com/coins/silver_coin_calculator.html
the site is pretty self explanatory, just select the coin(s) that you have, enter the amount and press submit! and viola MELT PRICE!!!.

Try craigslist.com, the ads are free. But uh, you could ask more than you did before. Melt on those is $26 each, nothing wrong in asking $29 or $30.
