I found that the ice-breaker oftens helps. We've all been turned down at banks where we don't have an account. I seem to have a lower rate of being turned down when I walk in and do something as simple as handing a teller two $20's and a $10 and ask for a $50 bill. Then I follow it up with asking for halves, Ikes, etc. Next bank, take the $50 and ask for two $20's and a $10.

Went through about $130 of halves today. The first $50 had nothing special, but the $80 that made it home in the picture had seven 40% halves in it, one of which was an ender! Also picked up a very nice '87 D and a '72 D Ike.

I'm jealous of the boxes you're getting down there.

My wife and I did 3 boxes of dimes yesterday. I was also able to set up my pick up back. I have a standing order for 500 in halves every Monday.

The 3 boxes of dimes yielded as follows:

    Box # 1 (2) 64 Rosie, 56 Rosie
    Box # 2 (skunk)
    Box # 3 (1) 64 Rosie

total from 1600 in dimes 21 silver dimes

Going to try for 2 more boxes of dimes today and can't wait for my halves to start Tuesday as the banks are closed on Monday.

    2 boxes of halves...2 skunks.

Welcome to my life. I predict two more skunks and then the next two boxes will put out 1 or 2 coins.

I'm blocking you...ha ha ha just kidding. I have no idea why that would happen. Maybe try ie if you are using firefox or vise versa.
Does anyone know how to post in a link to the thread in a post so model77 can click on it and see if that works?

IE at work and Firefox at home. I'm actually not that worried about it. Life will go on. It is strange though.

    Yesterday I did:

    1 box of Halves: Skunk
    2 boxes of Dimes: Box 1 Skunk: Box 2 - 2 x Roosies

    Grabbed $40 in CWH's at one bank: 2 x 40%ers
Another bank when grabbing my dimes had only 1 Halve available: 1960 Franklin :D

    Still a good day!

Not bad ace. Only managed to grab a box of dimes for this evening, today, as well as cash in change for tomorrows two boxes.

And the train keeps rollin! I got another box today and this is what greeted me in practically every roll:

Tons of BU 65s and 67s, and a few 68s. Then a few really nasty ones. Final tally for this box? 92 40%ers and 1 64! Best box ever!

So then I dumped that and went to get another box. "Only" 9 40%ers and 1 64. Normally, 10 silver coins would be a WOOT! moment but the monster box makes it look like a skunk. I need to remember this when I get back to my 10 box skunk streaks. In the meantime, I'm going to enjoy the ride. I get a few more boxes on Thursday. Let's hope the silver hasn't run dry by then.

Way to go. Reading these posts makes it blatantly obvious that my timing of getting out of the box searching game due to work was definitely a mistake. Hopefully my boxes coming on Thursday will be ok

These coins are paying for my husband and son to take a fossil collecting trip in March. Funny how one hobby helps pay for another.
