From what I'm reading here, it seems that people find more silver in dime rolls than anything else. Anyone agree? Disagree?

Perhaps I'll forget halves and try dimes.

I'd take a dime skunk for a Frankie any day!

Yes it is. I was so surprised when I saw the edge and pulled it out. There it was a 1900 Barber dime. Beginners luck I am sure.

WOW. I'm over $101k on dimes and have no barbers to show for it besides what I've bought.

2 boxes of dimes; first had one, second had two, including a '43-D.
    Box of quarters; skunk
    Box of nickels ; 2 wars and a '20-D.

    New addict!

    Hey all,

I have been reading through this forum and am new to roll hunting. I have a few boxes and some loose under my belt and figured I should share my results so far.

    Loose $300.00 - 19 - 40%, 1 - 1942 WL :thumb:
    Loose $150.00 - 1 - 40%
    Box #1 - 2 - 40%, 1 - 1964
Box #2 - Pepe le pew
    Box #3 - 28 - 40% (Consisted of 16 - '69, 12 - '68)
Teller tray - 1 - 1960 Rosie (Asked if that white colored one was an old one and teller said, not really, it's a 1960, so I said oh well, I'll take it anyhow.) :D
Here is my question. As i have yet to find a bank with a self serve coin counting machine, I feel guilty for handing the tellers a cloth bag of $500 halves at a time. Should I feel this way about it or do alot of you do the same?
One more quick question. As all of the banks I have visited will not accept rolled coin as they have to run it through the coin machine, should I be looking for banks without coin machines to find CWR's?

Those are really solid numbers!!! My numbers are really disappointing compared to what I see on here from the rest of you. :(

should you feel guilty? No, but I usually do. SHould you care? Hum...52 silver coins after going through 1950.00 in halves?!?! If your willing to give up that type of return to avoid a few awkward moments then your crazy!!

You have some really solid profits there, I would consider selling one or two of those coins and using the cash to drop off some valentines chocolates at a couple of the banks your dumping at. It will do the heart good, and relieve your guilt! (and maybe get them to start setting the good stuff to the side for you!)

If seems like every area is different. My area does not have coin machines. they would never accept bags of coin though! I have to reroll everything and turn it in rolled.

Did a box of dimes Friday and one today. Both skunks. The one today was BWR, String and Son. Any one have luck with them?

Also just ordered my first box of halves. Up to this point I have just searched for whatever rolls I can find but I placed my first box order today, it will be in on Thursday.

Unbelievable box today. Practically every roll had a 40%er in them. But the kicker is a good chunk of them were BU 67s. In fact, I got about a roll and a half of them. So in total I found 53 coins. My second best box EVER. Also, my total so far in February is already double what I found in all of January.

This has been and continues to be a fantastical month for me. I hope the train keeps rollin!

Thanks for your responses! I find myself struggling a little bit with what I am calling cold calls (going into a bank with no account to ask for halves). I'm working on becoming a little more direct about asking for halves. Since i started a few weeks ago I would go in and find some other reason to be in the bank and then at the last minute do the, "happen to have any half dollars?" routine. Like I feel like I need to break the ice by commenting on a painting on the wall, discuss rates on remote deposit for commercial accounts, or pull a rabbit out of a hat just thinking that there is no way they will know I'm a roll searcher if bring a little more to the table than a direct question. Man, sometimes my ignorance is laughable!!
