Does it need a dip? looks to have everything from ruts to blood on it at 20x magnification.

A dip will not help the coin. I would give it a bath in acetone and a few hours and see what you have.

I would leave well enough alone. The coin may very well look much, much worse after being dipped.

I think it's right on. Real for the time. I'd trade you a 20 dollar bill for it.

LOL, thanks but no thanks. I don't generally sell coins.

I agree with an acetone dip, but nothing more. It looks like environmental damage, unfortunately. The pix are fuzzy enough that I could be mistaken.

    Price? I'd guess $30?

Would you agree F15 details environmental damage?

Maybe the blood is from the battle at Gettysburg in the Civil War

That's a good sounding supposition. I think I'll hold that in my mind, LOL.

F12 details, tops. But it's the environmental damage that limits its value.

Yes, pretty sad. Your guess on price was close, but I got it for half of that even.

Acetone only and the blood is probalbly from the cow pens over at Emporia. I'm more worried about the PVC.
And I would of not of paid more than melt for it.

It was part of a lot I will post in acquisitions thread sometime this week after my new camera comes. In this same lot I got a 22 very weak D for $10 in f15, a $3 half dime in vf25, a few stunning Jeff's, a few toned stunning war nickels(all FS) & an amazing 55s Lincoln. What is melt, about $13? Guarantee it would go triple on the bay, but the blood is intriguing so she stays.
