    Today

Here is a collection I purchased today, February 11, for $500.

I have spent the entire evening looking through it all and this is what I have discovered (so far):

    Foreign
2000 proof, BU, and AU coins in 2x2 flips, dating from 1930-1970; 500 BU, AU and EF coins in 2x2 flips dating from 1740-1929; some paper money and a bunch of old tokens and medallions. In total there's over 100 countries in total and 23 troy ounces in foreign silver.

    U.S.

2 MS 1950-D nickels; 20 pre-64 Barber, Mercury and Roosevelt dimes; Franklin halves; a 1921-D Morgan dollar; a slew of wheats, including about 30 MS and BU cents from 1940-1956; 100s of MS-65 Bicentennial quarters, halves and Ikes; 11 mix date buffs, and about 2 dozen silver certificates and old notes. All the coins are marked and in 2x2 flips as well. All together there is around 4 troy ounces in U.S. silver.

I feel like a kid on Christmas!

I would like to see what some you other members would consider your best buy so far in 2012.

    Happy Hunting! IMG_8155.jpg

Today I purchased a collection of coins for $500. Included was a mix of U.S. and foreign coins. This is what I have found (so far)

Foreign - 1000 coins in 2x2 flips that grade UNC or better and another 500 that grade EF-AU also in 2x2 flips, and another 500 that grade G-EF; a few dozen paper notes and about 100 proofs. The coins date from 1750-1950; there's a total of 23 troy ounces of foreign silver. There are around 100 countries included.

U.S. - 100s of BU-MS65 bicentennial quarters, halves and dollars; a 1921-D Morgan; Franklin halves; 20 pre-64 dimes (Barber, mercury and Roosevelt); 11 buffs; 2 1950-D nickels...one is MS63, the other is AU; 30 unc wheat cents from 1940-1955, another 20 or so wheats; about 30 proofs; a few dozen silver certificates and other older notes in poor-fair condition. There is around 4 troy ounces of silver here.

I also got about 400 tokens from around the world. Mostly modern stuff except for the 200 O.P.A. tokens from the 40's.

I know you're excited about your purchase but was it really necessary to create two thread topics about it?

I apologize, I didn't realize two different threads had been opened. I will be more aware next time, this has been my first thread.

I will get some more photographs up today or tomorrow of some of the more interesting coins.

    Until then...
