That scar mark came with the cent. Every smear, smudge, nick, dent, scratch was on
this coin before I cut it out of the mint cellophane it was in. Or as the old saying goes--
    it is what it is.---John

1983 was interesting year for colorful Lincolns as the mint was still learning how to create copper plated cents. This is quite common and it's cool to see other collectors put together an assortment of 83's to show this (I did it long ago too). I also collect various degrees of bubbling for this year, some of them are made with a crazy amount of bubbles under the plating.

My 2nd uncirculated Wheat. My first is a 1909VDB. Is this what is called "wood grain"?---John

Thanks, when I get off my lazy duff I will photograph and post
my uncirculated 1959 Lincoln Memorial. I love the purple toning
    that the 1909VDB has developed.---John

I goofed. That 1953 wasn't my last uncirculated Lincoln. I just found this hiding in
my book. It is a 1955 Poor Man's Double Die.---John

Thanks Caz. I think mine is Gem BU, or at least what I was told when I
bought it. I also think it is a type 006, extra thick letters in the IN GOD
WE TRUST and LIBERTY but not the LIBERTY so much.---John P.S.---
I am still looking for the "real deal" with this, type001.

I like this one because it is a nice Poor man's doubled die, but also if you look at the top of the 9, it has something going on that I don't see on any of the other Poor man's DDOs
