Well, I have seen quite a few other 1776 continental currency coins posted and thought I would provide another for your review.

It weighs just under 24g or just over 0.8oz. It looks fairly worn. The pictures are below.

Any thoughts / comments on it? Fake / replica or legit?

    Thank you for your help.

Looks like there was an interest for a coin made for trade in HONG KONG........after all ...!!!!Various countries have produced coins that were specifically for use in foreign trade, some of which continue to be popular with coin collectors.Between 1873 and 1878, the United States Mint in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania produced a silver dollar coin known as the United States trade dollar. The Mint was authorized by Congress to design and create a trade dollar in the effort to improve trade with China. LOL ! LOL ! LOL ! Prior to 1873, the Mexican peso was the predominant silver coin and the trade coin of choice. OOHHH Ohh !!! I just happen to have one of those in my little leather pouch ....sitting right beside my 1776 Continential Currency coin and my 1772 Spanish Dollar...........Please do not insult my intelligence and tell me my 1776 does not have a connection to this coin ......they may not say the same thing but they look similar and they were made to solve the same issue .....so there obviously was a problem with the coins they were using previous to the TRADE DOLLAR .....OK here is another question for you ...dont worry its preety easy .....even someone like me who knows nothing can get the answer.......What DOLLAR could they have been using for trade with CHINA before the trade dollar was minted ....dont worry I'll give you a hint ..... or would you prefer to just close the tread...... because you dont want to give me the answer. you can stick your heads in the sand and avoid it ...FOR NOW...but sooner or later you are going to have to open your eyes ...then you will see Andrea

Could someone explain this to me?
