My dad got me a roll of Presidential dollars from the bank which aren't worth much. But as I was searching through the coin rolls there was a Susan B. Anthony Dollar. It was a 1979 Philadelphia Mint in pretty good condition so I went to see in my coin book if it was worth anything. Then I see there is a Narrow Rim and a Wide Rim. So I get out my loupe to check to see if it is a wide rim and IT IS!! Estimated cost of 50-60 dollars. I put it in a little coin sleeve along with my peace dollar that I got for Christmas and then put it in a little black bag. Then I bought some air-tite holders for it last week and come to find out, I lost the black bag. I am in distress right now. If something similar to this has happened to you please post so I will know I'm not the only one.
I've done that AWalker14.......put something in a 'place I won't forget' and guess what? I forget. Don't worry though. It'll pop up......
Try having a 2 1/2 year old that likes to help Daddy play with money (like me) and then see if anything ever comes up missing!
Here's two for $36 total. http://coins.ha.com/c/item.zx?saleNo=131152&lotNo=26913 Once you factor in grading fees and auction house fees, they probably lost money on those. Don't lose sleep over it.
The Redbook is NOT the authority on pricing. Use it only for the pictures and the history lessons. Ask your folks to find you a box. It's harder to lose a box than it is to lose a little black bag.
It must be missing somewhere in your house. You probably hid it and forgot where. No worth stressing over. One day it will show up and you be full of joy and surprise.
