HOTN.....there are both clad Bicentenials with an s mint and 40% silver ones (both proof and uncirc) with an s mint mark. So, if it just has an "s" is may not be silver.

Wow!! 12 silver dimes from 4 boxes. That is SOLID!!! I'd go back and get more dimes from that bank.

I did a box a halves today and got another skunk.....4th in a row.

I should pick up a box and sell it to you so you break your skunk streak. :p

Hey, look at me, December was horrible, then look at January. All part of the game, don't lose your head, haha.

Don't rub it in Merc! I was going to come on here today and declare that I quit hunting! That seems to work for you! I know it'll turn around soon enough.

Normally it wouldn't drive me this nuts, but I've been stuck at 98.5 ounces and up to 99.3 for about a week and a half. I just want to clear 100 oz. That's a pretty significant milestone! Today will be the day! I feel it brother.

We need to grab lunch soon!

    Hey Bobbeth,

This one is silver for sure, and with it being a proof, it's thick and looks like a 90%er even those it's only a 40%er. Too bad it was an ender because now it has some roller damage. Check out the pic in End Roll Finds Thread. It's a nice looking coin. My 1st Silver proof.

Hah, do it, bet it works. This game is funny like that... start thinking about getting out of it, and it gets a hook in you and drags you back into it. Congrats on the impending milestone, my next big milestone is $479 (Will hit it tonight) away... $100k in dimes searched.
Bicentennials came burnished and proof, that looks like a burnished one... the proofs have that typical proof look with the mirrored fields and frosted devices. Of the '76 40% silvers, I've found two proofs, no burnished.

My First ever box of nickles. Man those take forever to go through. they are plastic rolled so I have to squeeze the coins out, and I don't have coin counters in my area so I have to squeeze them back in after I am done looking at them.

I now have silver in every denomination. Halves, quarter, dimes, nickels.

Now if only I could find a silver penny!!! (that would be pretty cool actually. I wish they would put out a collector silver penny!)

    found 3 war nickels!

I can't get "end roll finds" thread to open. every time I try I get the following error:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 3449065 bytes) in /home/cointalk/public_html/includes/functions.php on line 4726

I guess it's not a proof then, just has the "s" mint mark. When looking at it from the side it's thick like a proof and does not have that typical silver clad look like a 40%er. Still a nice looking coin and I'm going to put it in a 2 x 2

On a side note I'm at 199 40% silvers. 1 more and I'll have $100 face 40%er. Nice little milestone.

    Try clearing your internet cache.
I would too, just because they're tougher to find... Basically, burnished coins are struck in the same manner as a proof (Multiple strikes at higher pressure) without the polishing of the planchets and polishing of the fields on the die and laser etching/acid treatment of the devices on the die.

Found 10 copper cents in the one and only roll I opened. 20% copper isn't too bad. Also, when it comes to Bicentennial coins they only offered the following from San Francisco: 40% silver-clad uncirulated, 40% silver-clad proof, and Cu-Ni clad prood. If your coin is NOT a proof, but has an S MM you have silver.

As you are probably aware, the '76 40% sliver set was sold both in proof and uncirculated condition

Your '76 40% is from the uncirculated set. I have also found one from circulation, and also saved it (even though I have one that is truly "uncirculated").

At least where I go, they do not mind at all. i just mark my rolls, and they go as far as making sure I do not get the same rolls back. Everyone there knows me, and I do not even have an account. :)

Nice set, I like that IKE. My 76' is BU but has that roller damage from being an ender. Oh well, still a nice score IMO. I'd like to land an IKE or and real silver dollar someday.

Box of halves last night: 2 40%ers
    Box of dimes: 1 46, 1 62, and 1 64

And we were just told today that the bank across the street from my hubby's job is requiring that he dump the coins in a bag to go get counted and our account will be credited at a later date. We will no longer use that branch. And if they pull that at all the branches then we will be cancelling our account. I'll never understand a business that provides a service then complains when their customers utilize that service.

VA, if it's TD Bank, call customer service and complain.

Supply bank didn't order my halves this week as I was late picking up the last batch. Told them to order it regardless of if they see me or not and I'll get them all as soon as I'm able. Hopefully that assures this won't happen again.

Considering adding a third bank to my rotation, that would make $3k a week in halves...

HOTN: It is still a cool find. I've found 3 myself, all of them the 76 uncirc kind....none of them proof.
