For the old folder, check with your local dealer. He probably has a pile of old blues just laying around and might give it to you at little or no cost. Otherwise check ebay. Old folders can be found. As for the Morgan designation, Barber was the chief engraver at the mint but Morgan did the actual engraving if memory serves me correctly.
My junk silver purchases usually include Walkers and Franklins. Over the years I was able to put together a decent Franklin set (in a blue Whitman album) in VF or better condition at melt prices. Also have a decent but incomplete collection of Walkers in G-XF in Whitman albums too. I've also put together multiple silver Roosie sets and an incomplete but extensive set of Mercs from junk silver purchases also.
Came across this while surfing eBay. I think it's a nice looking coin with decent detail all around and I wouldn't mind adding it to my newly started collection. I would appreciate some of your thoughts on it, since I don't know too much about this series an am just starting to learn about it. Is the BIN price fair? Should I make a lower offer? Would I be better off to not even bother with it? http://www.ebay.com/itm/1910-Origin...61?pt=Coins_US_Individual&hash=item5d32468b1d
nice original coin but expensive It is a nice original coin but I think you can do much better on the price if you are patient. I was serious when I suggested buying a book to better understand the key dates & what to look for in common date Barbers like this one. Also, you can find a selection of Barbers from which to pick at some coin shows. Perhaps we will meet at the next Wooster/Andover show in Massachusetts.
There is a ton of information on this website regarding barbers also. SOme members have taken the time to do some pretty extensive write-ups on the history of the series, the key dates, suggestions based on trends and considerations when collecting the entire set. In addition, there is a "Post a Barber" thread in the US Coins forum where people post pictures of barbers. It might give you a nice idea of whats out there, sometimes people post prices and give opinions. I started collecting barbers and made a few bad purchases in the beginning - nothing too bad but certainly a few coins that I wouldn't rebuy today if given the opportunity. I suggest reading, reading, reading and looking at photos etc. Good luck and have fun
How can I find those threads? Because whenever I try to search for old threads on here nothing happens. I don't know if I'm just not searching in the right spot or just doing it wrong.

IMO you fould a couple nice original looking coins. So many have been messed-with & these two look good. The 1912-S is a little better than fine. I'd say it makes very fine. It is just my opinion. An entire collection looking like these two would be absolutely awesome.
