Did some running around on my lunch to set up a heavy week in halves next week (by my standards anyways).
Went to cash my check and the teller held aside a real old looking roll of dimes - Skunk but nice of her none the less.
Asked them to order halves and they checked and said sure, so I got two boxes coming from them and I don't even hold an account there.
Went to one of my normal buy banks and the head teller was out but ordered them anyway and they should be in on Wednesday.
Hopefully also on Wednesday the bank that should have gotten halves this week should get two boxes. I should have either 4 or 6 boxes to do next week.

Yeah, My experience with the roll searching. I tried like around 15 banks looking for loose last week and only that one bank I got 4 40% ken. Today I had to stop somewhere and there was a smaller branch I wanted to try and they had 2 dollars worth and got a 65' and 2 67' ken. That was my win for the day. I've just been dumping at a local branch I belong to right now. It's been going o.k so far. But have thought about openig an account at TD bank for easier dumping. I have noticed a few PNC's have coin sorting machines for members(for free) but not every branch has them. .

Merc....wow! Great box a few days ago.

I stopped by a bank and they had one half......a 40%er

I then did a box and found:
    8 40%ers
    3 64 Kens
    1 43 Walker :D

After suffering through a bunch of skunks, I have found silver in 5 boxes in a row:
    12
    1
    1
    24
    21

I got another box and will open that later and have one box for tomorrow that I'll get....

My box of halves for this week was my best yet.
    1 - 64' ken.
    23- ken 40%ers
non silvers-1-1976-s proof, 1-1992-s proof and an unc. 2007-p

Out of the 23 40% 12 of them were unc. 1969 D's sprinkled throughout the box and three of those were enders. It was like somebody got rid of a whole roll of them. Maybe one of you guys got the rest of the roll? Looking forward to next weeks box!

Stopped at 4 banks during my work travels today, picked up $56 total in CWR's and loose halves. Skunked as usual. One teller was very evasive, quickly said she didn't have anything at all so I'm thinking she's actually holding a stack for someone else.

Did try to help my future luck at another bank I check regularly. Last time I was in the teller actually checked the halves before she handed them over "To make sure I'm not giving you any treasure". I know she collects paper money so, this week I brought in a $1 star note and a common 1976 $2 and asked her for change. Hopefully she'll remember that the next time a silver dime comes across the counter.

Yes....it tends to be better because people turn in old coins to pay for Christmas.

My 2nd box today was a skunk.....ending my silver streak at 5 boxes.

I found this quarter today in some change. I don't know how well you can tell from these pictures but it is crazy shiny. I have been in coin shops before where they have dishes full of these kinds of quarters. Has this been cleaned or what? It has a lot of luster so I don't know how you clean one and it stay this lustrous, but I am very curious about it. Comments please.

    I would imagine it's a proof TouchofGrey.

    I did one box halves = 2 40%ers

    Nice boxes Bob.

Sounds like you have good week lined up HOtN.

I've been thinking about opening up an account at PNC also halvesearcher. I have to check a few of the other branches around though to see if they have coin counters, 1 doesn't, the other I think does, and the 3rd I haven't checked yet.

Btw, off to another part of the suburbs tomorrow morning that I never get down too, gonna hunt like crazy tomorrow, hopefully I finally get a nice tally from CWRs!

I searched 4 boxes of halves today and found one pathetic 1967. I gotta be honest, I'm exhausted. 7 boxes with just 2 coins. Thank god for the 25 coins out of the 8th box.

Next week has got to be better, right?

I guess I just thought proofs had the different mint mark, but I guess they didn't at that point? It's definitely the only one I have ever found and it looks to be freshly broken from the set because it is quite shiny and has very few dings. I was already super excited about it and now I am even more pumped.
