I have been searching boxes of Quarters since the end of last year. And although not as productive in silver as I had in dimes I still find em every now and then. The last two boxes I searched yielded one each. Have another box sitting on my table that I haven't touched yet.

I'm in mid New Castle County. I haven't searched anywhere above Newark. So I don't know if we have overlapped at all. Let me know. Since the bank I buy from didn't get my box ordered last week. I tried last getting customer rolls and loose halves from many banks in the area. I'm guessing about 150-200 dollars worth. Got next to nothing. Except one bank I hit had 8.50 in loose and got 3 ken 40%ers. So I stopped by this week and they had 7 dollars more in loose with one 40%er. I don't know if that was left over from last week or not. But I'm going to try it again in a week or so. I know there are at least several people getting loose halves from what info. the tellers I met along the way have said. The bank where I do all banking is already saving all their loose halves for someone and they said one guy ordered ten boxes of halves last week. There are plenty of searchers in the area so I'm mostly going with my box a week and minimum loose halves. Seems to be luck of the draw. Wonder if your location around the U.S affects what you find much. Seems like around the northeast at least down to Virginia seem to be doing o.k. According to the posts here anyway, and the guy down in Florida is getting slim pickens. My box this week is my best so far. 10 more rolls to search so I'll have to put that up tomorrow. 1 -90%ken and 19-40%

I've taken route 40 down to Elkton before, that's a nice day of roll searching, but not really productive. Tends to be just one or two banks in the stretch that hit, and the rest are nothing but skunks. You cash in at TD, I'm guessing?

Loose and customer wrapped rolls (CWR) are definitely the way to go if you can find 'em.

it's been a LONG time since I searched a box of dimes and I found 3 silver dimes.
    2-1964's and a 1959
wasn't bad for the 15-20mins it took as I was watching TV while doing it...( I normally can go faster but I like MASH :D)

gotta start doing it daily I think at least a box or more...seems to be cheaper then paying $7.50 for the same amount of silver...

Dimes; 1 roosie in the last roll.

Nickels; 2 wars in the first ten, skunk the rest of the way. I'll still take it.

Off tomorrow, going to roll through at least 2 boxes of halves, hopefully a big bag of dimes/nickels, and gonna grab a few extra nickel boxes for work over the weekend. Might try roadtripping around, but I have a docs appointment at 3 (Crap time, eh?) for this gnarly cough/mucous I have had for a while now. Gonna try to find some more CWR's of halves, since I've been having great luck with them as of late. Don't really know where I'm gonna go.

How much money is in a box of nickels? I think I may need a box or 2

    Should probably stick to cents...

50 rolls a box... any denomination.

    Cents are $25
    Nickels are $100
    Dimes are $250
    Quarters are $500
    Halves are $500

I also picked up $100 in ikes tonight, some prooflike '72's in there, only one was clean enough to be a keeper, the rest are tossers.

When you all say "Roosies", does that refer to Pre-1965 Roosevelt Dimes?

    Thanks!

i've been finding quite a few proof coins while searching bags over the last couple weeks. none of them are in great shape, but i like to hang onto them because they're shiny and i'm attracted to shiny things.

does a circulated, clad proof coin carry any premium whatsoever? i'm guessing no.
