Thats a lot of shredded notes! I have to wonder, since they had that much on hand at their mint, what exactly do they do with the shredded bills? I wonder if they burn them or recycle them after they gather so much? His work conveys a lot of what is happening world-wide and I think it would be well suited in a museum for all to see.

The problem these days (imho) is that folks that love PMs are people that believe the world (or at least our currency) is coming to an end. I used to think that was ridiculous...but lately, I've become concerned. HOWEVER, I can't discuss my concerns with fiscal policy without discussing politics...and I've been told not to. :taped-shut: So..."Group Hug" is the most mature comment I can muster. :(

Good to see you woke up yak! Seriously we have been sleeping way to long and the world around us has turned into nothing but a fantasy full of distractions to keep us in our debt bubbles. Mean while the power hungry elite have looted this country dry, and because of the Federal Reserve have enslaved our children, and their children. People need to take this stuff serious if not for themselves but for future generations. We need to stop being selfish as nation and put country first dag-nam-it. We need to kick the Federal Reserve out of this country, tap the world biggest oil fields in Alaska, and elect one man who will keep his word. One man who doesn't answer to no one but the people. One man who will keep his promises, and give the country back to the people. One man who has the Federal Reserve shaking in their boots! You know who he is!
That would be a good start.

Sorry I went rouge, but emmm ummm yak started it ;)

BTW: PM folks also process a higher IQ! Don't forget that one!

Now how are you going to collect FRNs if you go do all of that? That's putting an end to a source of what we collect and it includes coins, not just paper money!

Never mind that's it's a profitable enterprise depositing billions annually into the US Treasury. It was create in response to panics, now people are panicking and ready to disband the federal reserve system. I'll wager the Federal Reserve willl be around to enjoy their 100th anniversary, no matter whom you elect.

Trash them. :D First of all, this is not primarily "the mint" but the Central Bank of Ireland, but since the artist himself has referred to the mint a couple of times ...

Usually shredded notes are disposed of in landfills and the like. Some of this "ex-money" can also be purchased; when you go to the Deutsche Bundesbank's Money Museum in Frankfurt, for example, you can buy stuff like this there. One million costs about €10. :) I have some small bags with shredded Mark and Euro notes too. But I paid for them, or got them for free on jubilee days etc. Sure did not go to the central bank with a truck - then again, I am not an artist and did not contact the bank with such a great idea, hehe.

You can listen to a BBC interview with Frank Buckley here. Starts at eight-something minutes, so move the slider to 8:00 or so, and wait a little: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p00n0f2z
