Box of dimes, last roll had a 1920 Merc (no MM)

 

Nice, Boxes never cease to amaze me. An old coin like that in the last roll, sweet find.

Yeah, like others have stated, avoid Ebay. I watch some of the auctions and I can't believe people actually buy $10 rolls for $15 and higher.

 

Got my first box in a few months today. 1 40%.

Penniesare kind of fun for all the random stuff you find. helps break up the silver skunks!

 

Felt lucky with some nickels lately.

Box 1 had 3 silvers (all 3 were 43P's)
Box 2 had one silver (also a 43P)

I've done 20 of the 50 rolls of box 3 and so far I've gotten no silver...but 2 buffalos! One is a 1924 and the other is dateless.

Also got a bunch of keepers from the 30s and 40s.

Not too bad with my first attempt at nickels!

 

SOLID results!!!

 

Yeah... I nearly jumped when I saw that first buffalo...which was in the first roll I opened!

I have a metal detector so I'll do some experimentation when I get it back from my uncle.

I'm going to pick up a box today on my way home and see if I can get lucky as well...

I bought a dansco album for jefferson nickels and my goal with the album (as well as my entire collection) is to fill it with coins I've found, and not purchased. I'm only missing 4 nickels as of now! All the other ones were obtained at face value (finding them in rolls/boxes, and through trades). I'll post some photos up soon

Just tore open a box of halves with a lot of 40% silver enders. I'll let ya guys know whats up later once I'm done work. 10 enders, not including a double ender.

 

Huge score Merc... that should be a representation of how many silvers you will find! If 10 out of your 50 rolls have silver enders... That's a 1/5th chance that EACH coin in every one of your rolls is silver... I'd say, since there are 20*50 coins in your box... ~200 silver coins. HOLY CRAP I hope my math is correct.

Anyways, the 50d is one of the ones I can't find either! I'll let u know if I find one.

 

First halves hunt, 200 dollars in halfs, Only one bank in town stocks them, bought all they had. It wasnt nothing, except on the last roll.. 3rd half from the bottom was a 40%er, It make my day my first silver find on a hunt! Hooked me. When my tax check comes i got a bank orderings me 2k worth lets see how this plays out? Ill post results (week or two)

 

So do I. There's ten rolls with one ender, and one with 2 enders... so you might wanna revise your math, haha.

So far this year I've done 10 boxes of halves and 5 have been skunks.
