Not to somebody who makes his money by bumming lunch money off his parents and using it to buy tools for working in the neighborhood And honestly, I love working the way I do because I make about $2k a summer and work on my hours. This summer, I am probably going to Alaska to work and stay at my cousin's place. Coins will go slow, but I might come back with a nifty $5k to spend Money is hard to come by for me. I admit I cry over spilled milk when I lose money, but I love the low grade coins but a proof merc is on my bucket list
Well if you ever need a winter job let me know!! I am always looking for good people. Our busy season is Aug-Jan.
I agree with you wholeheartedly. Photos of the lower grades prove there are a lot of us collecting them and I'm proud to say I'm one of them. But I wouldn't mind paying a couple of bucks more for a nice EF 1917-S, or 18-D, etc.
NGC Generation 4 slab (circa 1989-1992), the green label. Back then, white coins were all the rage. Let's thank the person who had enough foresight not to dip this coin prior to having it graded.
That's a nice, crusty XF '39-D. I like it. Here's a couple newP's from the past week or so... I'll post more pics as my new arrivals come in over the next week or so.
So I know I posted these on another thread...but I guess I can post them here too? Proud to have gotten such a good deal on them. 15 mercs (and a severely worn barber) for $20. 9 of them fill spots in my Whitman, so thats awesome.
I bought this Mercury set at the end of 2011. The best price that was being offered for this partial Mercury dime set was melt & I was happy to buy it. The 1921 made it a no-brainer. Now I feel the need to buy the coins that are missing from the set but dealers are not giving those dates away.
Collect89, WOW, Tremendous buy. You'll have no problems getting the rest of the dimes except the 16-D.
I know you can't really see much, but you're not really supposed to... Just to give you an idea of numbers, this is all of my slabbed Mercs right now... all but one is OGH or rattler. S-D-P
Merc crazy, that's some collection of mercs. Please explain what OGH and rattler mean. I'm weak on abbreviations and nicknames. Hey John, we seem to be following each other around. Very nice, clean UNC '44'
http://forums.collectors.com/messageview.cfm?catid=26&threadid=222533 OGH is the slabs with green inserts, runs up to PCGS 5, which was discontinued in 10/98.
I just bought a couple of nice upgrades on Ebay. Must say I am super excited! Be on the lookout in the next couple of days!
