My first denarius was of Vespasian, and I finally upgraded it The picture is a little bright, but I was trying something new and the results were a little better. Vespasian, 1 July 69 - 24 June 79 A.D. Silver denarius, RIC II part 1, 362; SRCV I 2317, BMCRE II 74, F, 2.879g, 17.2mm, 195o, Rome mint, 72 - 73 A.D.; obverse IMP CAES VESP AVG P M COS IIII, laureate head right; reverse VICTORIA AVGVSTI, Victory advancing right, crowning legionary standard with wreath with right, palm across shoulder in left. "This type likely refers to the victory in Judaea but does not specifically identify that victory."
Thanks The coin is a bit shinny and causes allot of glare so I through a white box over the light a camera and bot slightly better results. I also tried this with my other coins and got great results. But I just got done re-photographing the better part of my collection XD. Here is the sellers pic of my coin. Much better that mine, but I want to use my own photos when I can.
Did you looko in Hendin and see if he lists it? It seems every edition he makes a case for more and more Roman coins being related to Judea than in the past. HE has a large section of "Judea Capta" issues in the edition I own, and heard he has enlarged it in his newest one.
Nice type and the wear is even, giving a very attractive aspect to it I prefer the second pic better, I guess Q
Thanks Also here's a couple examples in the difference in techniques I've before trying out with my lighting.
