OOOOOO.....NICE MAN!!!! That 37 is a tough, tough coin with only 9k minted. I have a raw one, it was a tough find:
Just bought this from Lehigh96, one of the best toned coin collectors that I know. I made some slight LEVELS adjustments on the sellers photographs trying to mitigate slab glare. I havent seen that many nicely toned Proof Saca Dollars -- this is definitely one. NGC graded this Proof 68 Ultra Cameo. The reverse of the early Sac is one of the greatest modern coin designs (IMHO) -- it's a shame they changed it (in 2009 I think?) -- the flying eagle motif was inspired, especially the way the wing tips encircled some of the stars -- it's both dynamic and beautiful. As a final note, I always found the eyes of Sacagewea really piercing -- it might be the best, most "live" looking eye design implemented on any US coin.
Just got this TrueView back from PCGS. (Photo by Phil Arnold, who I can only describe as insanely great). This was an NGC MS66 that crossed to PCGS at the exact same grade PCGS MS66 (that's kind of rare). I bought this monster from Shane at KryptoniteComics, one of the premier toned coin dealers on the Planet.
This is about as good as it gets for a 1915 at least I think so. This one has been graded ms-66 by pcgs but I think it looks a bit better than that.....Cold steel blue toning & it's hammered....
A few newer ones for me: a nicely circulated and toned 1920 Merc. My first Ebay purchase, impulse but you can probably see why: And a nice 40% Kennedy:
Here's my BU 1953 Jefferson Nickle. This takes some getting use to, I don't think I have seen too many coins tone gray.I am building my own "mint set" for my birth year, it looks odd against the shiny silver quarter and dime. The cent is a bit toned too come to think of it. I really like the brown toning best. ---John
