I bought 40 dollars of half dollars and this one just caught my eye. Im new to coins and could use some help. As much information about this coin would be appreciated thanks -TristieTwoTimes
1971-D (Denver) 302,097,424 coins minted, worth about fifty cents. 1971 was the first year that all silver was removed from half dollars produced for circulation.
It looks from the photo to be highly Proof Like. There are many possible causes for this but this one appears to have been struck well by a new and basined die. It probably does have light wear which is highly detrimental to price in modern coins but these are scarce enough that you might hang onto it anyway. They aren't rare but it's an interesting and unusual coin and this coulsd translate into a premium one of these days.
