That isn't worth much, I wouldn't even pay melt for it. Barbers are easy to find well-worn, especially in quarter and dime size. Plus you need a full date and MM location identifiable to get it slabbed.

    Merc,
    Very Interesting....
I would be down with that for sure....as long as they credit the account right away so they funds are available for use and they make any adjustments at a later date. Now that I'm thinking about it more, I use my daughters savings account (no fees) when cashing in at the Penny Arcade and as you may or may not know, you can only make 6 withdrawls per month otherwise you get flagged and get sent a letter about making too many withdrawls/transactions. I guess if this became a problem I would just switch it over to a checking account. I don't use TD more than 4-5 times on a normal month but when I go on a road trip I might use it 6 times in a day. Different locations of course.

FYI...BoA does not credit the account until the coin gets sent out and counted. I've learned the delivery/pu days of each bank in my area so I know to have my coin there the day before if I want it to be send out and counted right away. I learned by lurking on the Tnet forums that they credit right away if you bring to the Merchant window, but no branches around me have those.

Perhaps I don't dump enough at TD for them to offer me that, I'll be interested to see what the future holds for our hobby.

Almost forgot to post about my weekend find...snowed all day Saturday so I went a local bank to use their coin machine to dump since the roads were so bad. I went to cash in my ticket and noticed the teller had some halves and one was clearly silver. She said I have $6.00 worth, I plunk down my money and she hands them over. 1 x 1967.
Second teller tray score from this bank, thank you very much.

    $30 nickels - 5 1960 & older, one was 1941

$1250 dimes searched, 4 silvers including one mercury. Did find a nice 1987 S dime too. Then teller at TD gave me a 1943 dime so I was pleased. This all makes up at least partially for the roll of dimes I somehow misplaced from bank to car to house.

Thats exactly what I do , I can dump 1000.00 and withdrawl it right there with no issues. Also, somebody told me that BofA is in the process of making a "coin mining" policy for people who make large transactions with coin, without having a bussiness account. I asked a couple different managers/tellers if this is true and the response has been ''NO'' . Anyone heard of this policy from BofA?

The person I was mentioning is on the West Coast (CA in fact) as well, so this makes sense. So do you only drop off bags at certain locations and pick up from others? I only know of one branch that has a merchant window. I can't imagine handing her a coin lock bag with $1000 in halves, and then buying my two boxes from her. It takes her two trips from the vault to get them in the first place. It must not be an issue out there because of the massive population. There is prob BoA branches on every corner right?

Wow, I wish there were Suntrust locations around me. I would like to pay my mortgage today please....in halves! If they let me do that I would be a customer forever, and a happy one at that!

Yea pretty much , there are two locations that I have very good rapport with that I use alot. Those ones specifically don't mind me dumping and picking up in one shot.

I have not heard of anything about "coin mining" from BoA. They know what I'm doing and don't seem to mind. I try to spread it around and not be a jerk about it. As long as don't use the tellers for transactions and buy coin with cash only and just drop off coin lock bags I get free banking. Hopefully they don't start cracking down, that'll be bad news.

On a side note, I went to order some halves today at a different bank and there was no mention of any fees. That's always a positive.

Wow, you're lucky with those relationships. I have one branch that offers to order twice per week for me but they are kind of far away. Sucks because the boxes produce well.

Merc - which branch? I had no problem today changing in $900 in halves at TD.

My dump banks which have allowed dumping into their coin machines with no charge or limit are now going to a $200 daily limit. Anythine exceeding that will incur a 10% charge. This change makes is exceedingly hard to continue. With no other banks with coin counters I can't do the volume I am use to.

Bob, to answer your question to Ryan625, yes, I have found silver getting a bunch of quarters out of car washes. That is the way I started out.
