According to USpapermoney.info: All serial numbers used on uncut sheets are above 99840000 in Series 1981 and 1981A! Well this one is auctioning at a frenzy of over 15 bids, and up to $28 bucks! Series 1981A DC G99913248A. G2 location (Has to be a 32 subject sheet) I've dealt with the seller, and he's an up-and-up guy. Well I hope he is? But I know these notes get passed off so many times it's funny till the last guy decides to get it graded. Than it's ops time! Anyways, I sent him a polite message to verify it's authenticity with links to USpapermoney.info http://www.ebay.com/itm/1981-One-Dollar-1-Federal-Reserve-Selvage-Error-Note-Chicago-Miscut-/270895108444?_trksid=p4340.m1374&_trkparms=algo%3DPI.WATCH%26its%3DC%252BS%26itu%3DUCC%26otn%3D15%26ps%3D63%26clkid%3D5809096488798028334 Guys I doubled checked everything, am I correct that this note is a fake error? He also used the term "Selvage Error" in the listing hmmm???
These show up all the time. There is one seller that looks like they're making a living with these notes. Blatant ripoff.
but if something like that is a fake then: -is that not counterfeiting (if you wrirte it like that, sorry if not), so a criminal offecnce -Against ebay policy Dont know much about the ebay stuff, so it could be i am wrong
It's misrepresentation but not counterfeiting. The note itself is real currency. It's the error that is questionable.
Yes, this note is from an uncut sheet and is not a BEP produced error. Selvage is the excess paper from the original sheet that is trimmed off from the final note. A note in position G2 would not have any selvage as it is an interior position bordered on all sides by other notes.
I agree that this may be a mis-cut error, but the BEP didn't miscut it. I also find it troublesome that this guy has 4 "associated" eBay accounts: greatstateroadshow, greatstateroadshow11, greatstateroadshow12, and greatstateroadshow13 how "up and up" can he be?
We'll find out if he pulls the auction, that's for sure. It's at $32... In my message to him, I gave links and proof that it's a blatant fake, and if greed is his motivating factor than it's his lose and he should be added to the bad sellers list for knowingly selling fake currency errors. I'm rutting for him to do the right thing! Tic-Toc he has four hours.
also look for the 1995 3rd print missing $1 bill, im not beliving it but it looks fine... im not sure
What a scumbag. But then the people bidding on it without doing minimal research aren't too bright either.
