I got this MS-62 slabbed morgan in the mail today. Seller had real clear pictures, but this spot was not visible in the listing. It almost looks like a drop of water ended up on the coin and dried. What would cause this? Either way, I'm keeping the coin, just wanted to know what it was.
Well I looked up the certification number, and you can see it a little bit, it's a lot more of an eyesore in real life. Would it be anything to worry about?
Interesting. I'm looking at the sellers pics on the auction listing and I can clearly see it in those photos. You can also see it on the NGC cert. verify for the coin as well.
Yes, you can SEE it, but like I said, in person it sticks out like a sore thumb. I'm going to guess that it's a bag abrasion, where the coin rubbed up against the bag. I still got it for a fair price, so I won't return it. You take a chance buying coins on the net as photos may not always depict what you see in person. I left the seller positive feedback with 5 star DSR'S.

I plainly saw this in the photos supplied with the auction. My advice to you is to be more circumspect before bidding on coins and be prepared to find problems like that when buying MS62 Morgan dollars. The time for questions is before you bid, not after you get the coin delivered to you.
One of the many reasons it graded a 62. You have to realize that a 60,61,62 and even 63s will have lots of problems. This is a reason people like au58's because you can get a nice clean looking coin for less money
buying coins is like a marriage. keep your eyes wide open before and half shut after. meaning: be more picky before you buy and less picky after you buy. just love your ms-62 morgan for all she's worth, flaws and all.
