Yak milk is pink, but yak poo is still brown (no relation to our esteemed member) Congrats on the milestone post!
thanks for the contest! My cousin's wife saw a semi truck going by towing a full sized trailor marked "BISON" on the side. With great concern she asked him, "How do they BREATHE in there?!?"

Significant dates in the U. S. Navy for today, January 20th. 1783 - Hostilities cease between Great Britain and the United States 1903 - Theodore Roosevelt issues Executive Order placing Midway Islands under jurisdiction of the Navy Department. 1914 - School for naval air training opens in Pensacola, FL. 1948 - Establishment of U.S. Persian Gulf Area Command (later changed to Middle East Force in August 1948). Thanks for the contest. Those are beautiful coins.
Friendship is like peeing on yourself: everyone can see it, but only you get the warm feeling that it brings.
Really nice coins and congratulations on your 1,000 post. I really like the Icelandic coin with a cod fish on it also being an avid saltwater angler not sure if they still mint it or not. Here's the biggest cod I've ever caught a few years ago.
First...Congrats on 1,000 posts Second...You post some great looking, really interesting coins...When reading your posts, I am always, muttering....ohhh...I really like that coin Thirdly, The Soviet Red Army once trained dogs to destroy enemy tanks. The dogs were trained to associate the underside of tanks with food and were fitted with a 26lb explosive device strapped to their backs. Once the dogs crawled under the tanks, the device was triggered and exploded destroying the tank (and of course the dog). Unfortunately this didn't always work as planned as the dogs were trained using Soviet tanks so were more likely to run under these than the German tanks. As many as 25 German tanks were put out of action this way during the battles for Stalingrad and Kursk.
The pleasure of making your acquaintance has been all mine Siggi. You're a gentleman and all around fine person...and I love your coins and your music. Now about those Icelandic counterstamps! Bruce
