I never saw one of these on the holder crooked like this. I was browsing a dealer inventory when I saw this... I wonder if JA knows about this?
Slab exists on both NGC and CAC database. Maybe the sticker got warm or wet and adhesive temporarily loosened enough to allow it to slide around. Or maybe this is a CAC Monday sticker.
I don't think there's really any standard location or orientation for a sticker. It's just some dude putting a sticker on. Its going to permanently stick in the first spot it lands.
The sticker is crooked and this is ok. But the “name” (TPG) on the slab reads Nevada silver.com. Should a bean be on this holder? I thought CAC only beans PCGS and NGC.
. Why not ask Mr. Albanese? You are a member on the Forum, there. In fact, why not start a new Thread there, same as this Thread?
Yes, the label looks weird, but this is in fact an NGC coin. The "Nevada Silver Collection" was an early special label. You might have heard of the Binion hoard? The Binion label was applied to Morgans and Peace dollars. This label was applied to Walkers - but they also came from the Binion hoard.
No, I had not heard of the Binion Hoard. Thank you for turning me on to it. On your note I did a google search and learned about the very interesting story. This is what makes coin collecting and CoinTalk enjoyable. Thank you. Richard
