I picked this coin up today from a Local coin shop I've been doing some poking around about it. I think It is Constanitine 1, 318-330 AD What do you guys think? And perhaps value? I only spent Five dollars on it. The white specs are from the plastic during scanning.
Very wrong. It is a bronze coin of Constantine I, and is worth around $5-10 dollars. On the reverse, below the "camp gate" are four or five letters - that is the mintmark, which is also important for determining the date of the issue. michaeljm, take the coin out of the plastic before you scan it. Don't worry, you won't hurt it!
2nd that! I can't see whats in the ex very well. But yeah, as Bill said, its Constantine. Something like this. \http://www.wildwinds.com/coins/sear/s3878.html
