I was wondering if some of the newer coins, 1990's thru 2011, are suppose to have mint marks? I have ran across a few coins in the 2000's that dont have a mint mark on them and wasn't sure if its normal or not?

Coins without the mint mark are struck in Philadelphia, and there will also be some coins with the P mint mark on too.

Since 1980, all circulating US Coins have a mint mark on them except for the Lincoln Cent.

This is ONLY for coins produced for circulation. Edited to qualify: except Lincoln Cents produced at the Philadelphia mint.

The only coins struck in that timeframe without mintmarks are cents struck at the Philadelphia Mint.

Better check your mintage figures before making a comment like that. However, if you live on the east coast, "D" coins are somewhat less common.

Out here on the west coast, I'm hard pressed to find a philly coin minted after 1982. I find mostly D cents and suprisingly many S cents.

I live about one hour south of the Denver Mint. Lincoln Cents with a 'D' mintmark are plentiful here.
