What can I use to take better pics.

    If I use a paper over my lights it makes the image too dark.

    Then you need brighter lights... or a softer diffuser. Try toilet paper or a paper towel.

    Okay, for proof try this: Roll paper over lens put paper over coin, use light-through-paper and shoot

    Try 4 inches away.
