Hello everyone, I was wondering if someone could help me identify these coins and tell me which countries they are from? I recently purchased a large lot of coins and I have stumbled upon a few that I am unfamiliar with. Can you help me figure out where these coins come from? The first one is quite small. On one side it has a lion holding a sword which can be clearly made out. It looks as though the lion is standing in front of a sun. Then on the other side there is a symbol that is shaped kind of like a heart (even though it isn't one) with a wreath around it. The second is this coin has a hole through the middle and a groove across the front. It has a dear looking figure on the front encased in an oval. On the other side there are the numbers 1 through 9 all encased in circles. Thank you for your help. Sorry if the pictures are somewhat bad, my camera isn't the best at taking close-ups! K&T
The first seems to be 5 dinars from Iran, years 1930-1940. Worth in the $1 area in this grade. Its aluminum-bronze. Second is a public phone token from Israel, year seems to be 1981. Worth no more than 50c.
I think the first one is iran 5 dinars or 5 something - heart shape is a 5 - that side is upside down & out of focus - probably has a date there too
Thanks everyone! That was incredible fast. I have one more that I am trying to figure out, it may just be a token but here it is:
This one is a copper 2 pai from the Indian state of Hyderabad. Dated year 39 (Ah1322) or 1904. However, this was a cyclical date struck for multiple years. The Iranian coin is dated SH1318, or 1939.
Took your first pics and edited them, couldn't help the focus, but they're displayed better. You can keep the pics if you want to.
