Sweet pick up! I've had a few bids placed in recent HA auctions for this series. I've been trying to win a bright 53 through 58 EPQ example Fr.37 but was outbid several times by others. Still looking... :smile Congrats on yours!

Even though I just received this, I wasn't going to post it because it is very common and was a minor upgrade. The 10 Peso Note changed my mind. I bought it because it was a little cleaner than the one I owned.

Excellent note! Something about that orange/gold ink really does it for me so to speak.

No doubt!!! That $1 is right on the fence with being an error - oh what the heck, I'm in a good mood. NICE ERROR NOTE CLAY! LOL
I've seen them slightly out of alignment, but I must say I haven't seen one that far out in a while. Are you going to get that one slabbed Clay? I'm curious what PMG will say? Heck I might have to break out the Paper money error book and educate myself on serial number errors, cause that might be my next purchase. I did pick up a $10 90% partial Face to Back this evening to go with my Back to Face offset error! I'll have to post the set when that one gets here.

Here is my latest. Not in the best of condition (I say F+ maybe VF-), but the price was right, and these little buggers don't get cheap when you get into the VF+ condition. Should match that '22 $20 GC I got for Christmas...

Nice GC Ron! The GCs are on my long list of notes to add to my collection too and I hear you loud and clear when you mention how fast these notes get pricey! Ouch!

I picked this up yesterday. I don't see any folds.(of course my eyes are not the same anymore) but according to PCGS grading there should be some light folds.or corner folds

    from PCGS site.
[h=4]About New 53[/h]"53 is an intermediate grade used for notes that are above average for the "50" grade but that don't quite reach the "55" grade. Such a note might have one slightly heavier fold or crease but with all the other qualities of an uncirculated note, or it might have a combination of light bends or corner folds that keeps it from a higher About New grade.

I sure do like these large size FRN notes, I have one $5 example, a raw F-874 and not nearly as nice looking as this note.

In the enlarged image it looks like there may have been the slightest center fold which may have creased the top margin but not much further down. The margins on the face are pretty tight on top and bottom too, which I think has affected the graders decision making here. Also, the corners may be slightly rounded/bumped on the left side (face) right side (back). The margins are probably the biggest detractor in grading, but still, that is a nice note to add to your collection. Congrats!

I see what looks like a small teller crease near the word 'Authorize' on the face? These small creases are typically created when a stack of notes is counted by hand. Could you imagine counting a stack of brand new $5 1914's by hand! OMG
Very nice! None of mine don't even touch that one. Again Great Pick-Up!

thanks, now I do see what appears to be a very faint crease by the word 'Authorize'. and I also see that it has a very tight margin on top. almost touches.

    thanks for the info.

I may send it in for grading whenever I get around to preparing another package. Page 224 from United States Paper Money Errors, A Comprehensive Catalog & Price Guide, 3rd Edition by Dr. Frederick J. Bart:

Have to agree with krispy on this one. I've been wanting one for a while now and have to decide whether to go for the nicer ones that catch my eye, or go for one just so I can say that I own one. Yours is the best of both worlds Ron, so nice addition!

Doc, thanks for that. Regardless what condition above VG, these sale very swift on eBay so you can't go wrong.

Clay, yeap I broke out the error book this morning, and that sure is a bonified error!
