I wouldn't touch those with ten gloves on. Unless they're selling those for 10 bucks each, then I would turn around and sell it for melt value.
Reminds me of a guys add I ran across on craigslist that said " I offer 10x Face on all pre 64 coins. "Don't sell to dealers, they will only destroy the history." I sent him a rude email saying " How much money do you make by scamming the elderly." On wedensday we have the coin club meeting. He is a member. There might be an akward moment.
They're just silver bullion. I have a few myself, although as they're not special or limited by any means I'd never have them slabbed. Might be fun to watch the prices, or possibly just go educate the auction house as to what they actually are.
My only concern is that they are not marked with the fineness or content. The "service" says they are 1 oz 999 fine silver, but the objects themselves don't.
It's immediately obvious that they are fake, but they should have had the word "COPY" as part of the design. NOTE: Some countries require the word "REPLICA". Unless the auctioneer informed everyone that they were copies before each auction, you might want to advise him that while it is not illegal to own a counterfeit coin, it is illegal to sell them. Chris
The word COPY in in the field just to the left of the eagle between the wing and the wreath. The piece does appear to comply with the HPA.
OMG... I think it's mostly sad for the simple fact that there is some uneducated soul out there who will think he/she has hit the jackpot. Only to find out later on they were robbed!
...and he will have no one to blame but himself. The auctioneer should specify a bit more about these though.
