I received this note in today's mail.

The normal size of the "D4" District Designator is 3.5mm, but on this note it is 3.0mm and located further below the serial number.

Huh, never heard of that error before. Thanks for posting your example of one Clay. Now another thing to add to the error "buy" list.... :)

Was this error very expensive in your opinion? Also, did you have to search a lot of places to find a nice example for what you paid?

Was fortunate enough to be given this note on another site. I didn't have any Hawaii notes so it was a very welcome addition. :)

I purchased this note to demonstrate the differences between a regular Series 1999 $20 FRN and a Series 1999 $20 FRN with the District Designator Variance. Comparison of the position of the District Designator:

Someone's gotta try to keep up with Clay :)

Here's another great French note that arrived today. This one's from Algeria, P-106 issued in 1956. Bacchus (god of the grape harvest), a ram, and grape harvest scene.

I claim a foul. French artistry on banknotes will always kick butt against other paper money. :)
